STUD INSTALLATION

Use these tips to prevent damage to your track.
Check for loose studs after each sled use.

PUSH-THROUGH STUDS (Back To Top)
1. Mark stud pattern on track.
2. Cut stud holes with a 1/4" hollow core drill bit (#DRIL-1/4") or 7mm bit (DRIL-7mm). Make sure bit is sharp, this will insure a clean hole.
3. Push stud into the hole from inside the track. Insert domed support plate. Hand tighten lock nut on the exposed stud.
4. Use a socket wrench to tighten the lock nut. Use a 5/32" hex wrench on the stud head. Tighten until domed support plate bottoms on the stud shoulder. If you tighten past this point you will strip the nut threads.

T-NUT STUDS (Back To Top)
1. Mark stud pattern on track.
2. Cut stud holes with a 1/4" hollow core drill bit (#DRIL-1/4") or 7mm bit (DRIL-7mm). Make sure bit is sharp, this will insure a clean hole.
3. Push a T-nut tool (Woody's part #AST-4050-1/4" or AST-4060-7mm) through the hole from the outside of the track.
4. Screw a T-nut onto the T-nut tool, barrel end toward the track. Pull the T-nut through the hole until it is flush with the track.
5. Remove the T-nut tool. Put a drop of 262, 271 or 290 Loctite Threadlocker on the T-nut threads and stud threads.
6. Use our optional Track Saver tool (Woody's part number ATT-4260-3/4" or ATT-4270-1") in your 3/8" drive ratchet to hold the T-nut. Slide support plate onto the stud, and screw the stud into the T-nut.
7. Torque stud to 100 to 120 inch-lbs and let dry for 24 hours at 70 degrees.

SNAP-OFF STUDS (Back To Top)
1. Mark stud pattern on track.
2. Cut stud holes with a 1/4" hollow core drill bit (#DRIL-1/4") or 7mm bit (DRIL-7mm). Make sure bit is sharp, this will insure a clean hole.
3. Insert domed washers onto the stud. Push the threaded end of the stud into the track from the outside.
4. Hand tighten T-nut onto the stud, barrel end toward the track. Using a 3/8" socket and Woody's Track Saver tool (Woody's part #ATT-4260-3/4" or ATT-4270-1") torque to 100 to 120 inch-lbs or until T-nut head is flush with track surface.
5. Use side cutters or pliers to snap off extra portion of stud thread. In rare cases, remove nub remaining on threaded end of stud.
6. Apply Loctite Threadlocker #290.
